This Privacy Policy explains, in general terms, how Lazr Freight Inc. (“Lazr”, “we”, “us” or “our”) handles Personal Information in connection with our website, webapp, shipping and related services, customer support, sales and onboarding activities, and related business operations.

In this Privacy Policy, “Personal Information” means information about an identifiable individual, subject to applicable law. Lazr’s services are primarily designed for business and professional use. Even in a business-shipping context, shipment records may include Personal Information such as names, business contact details, delivery details, and other information needed to arrange, manage, or support a shipment.

This Privacy Policy is intended to describe our practices at a general level. It does not replace the privacy practices, terms, or notices of carriers, customs brokers, payment processors, insurers, or other third parties that may also handle information in connection with a shipment or related service.

1. Scope and application

This Privacy Policy applies to Lazr’s marketing website, logged-in webapp, and related services that link to or refer to this Privacy Policy.

Where required by applicable law, Lazr may provide additional notices or obtain consent for specific practices, including certain cookies and similar technologies.

Lazr’s website, webapp, and services are primarily intended for business and professional use and are not directed to minors.

2. Information we collect

We collect Personal Information that is reasonably required for the relevant service, relationship, or activity. Depending on the context, this may include account and contact details, shipment and delivery information, billing and transaction information, support records, business relationship information, and technical or usage information associated with the website or webapp.

We do not need to receive more Personal Information than is reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose. Payment card processing is handled through third-party PCI DSS compliant payment processors. Lazr does not store full payment card numbers in its own systems.

3. How we collect information

We may collect Personal Information directly from you, from your organisation or authorised users, from shipment-related inputs and communications, from service providers or partners involved in the relevant service, and automatically through the use of our website or webapp, including through cookies and similar technologies.

4. How we use information

We use Personal Information as reasonably necessary to operate, provide, secure, support, and improve our website, webapp, shipping-related services, customer relationships, and business operations.

  • create and manage accounts, permissions, and organisational access;
  • obtain rates, facilitate bookings, generate shipment-related records, and coordinate with carriers or other service providers;
  • administer billing, payments, claims, support, reporting, and related operational workflows;

  • communicate with users, customers, prospects, and authorised contacts;
  • understand usage, performance, and onboarding sources, and improve the website, webapp, and related services;

  • protect our rights, investigate misuse, and maintain the security and integrity of our services.

Where applicable, individuals may unsubscribe from marketing communications by using the unsubscribe mechanism included in the communication or by contacting Lazr.

5. When we share information

We may share Personal Information where reasonably necessary with categories of third parties such as:

  • carriers, logistics partners, customs brokers, insurers, claims providers, and related shipment-service providers;
  • payment processors, billing providers, financial institutions, and tax or accounting support providers;
  • cloud, infrastructure, security, identity, communications, customer-support, analytics, and similar technology providers;
  • sales, marketing, onboarding, customer relationship management, and business development service providers;
  • professional advisors, auditors, and insurers; and
  • courts, regulators, law enforcement, governmental authorities, or transaction counterparties where required or permitted by law or reasonably necessary in connection with rights protection or a corporate transaction.

Lazr may also disclose or transfer relevant information in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganisation, sale of assets, or similar business transaction, subject to applicable law.

6. Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies on our marketing website and webapp. These technologies may help operate the service, remember settings, measure usage, understand navigation and interaction patterns, and support analytics, performance, and marketing functions.

Cookies and similar technologies may include browser cookies, local storage, pixels, tags, scripts, software development kits, and similar tools that can recognise a browser, session, device, or user interaction.

Lazr uses Microsoft Clarity on the marketing website and in the webapp for behavioural analytics. Depending on configuration, Clarity may collect interaction information such as clicks, scrolling, page views, navigation patterns, heatmaps, and session replay information.

Lazr also uses Google Analytics and Google Ads for analytics, attribution, conversion measurement, and related advertising or measurement purposes.

Where required by applicable law, Lazr seeks consent before placing or using non-essential cookies or similar technologies. Non-essential technologies may also be managed through Lazr’s cookie banner or consent manager where available, and through browser settings, subject to browser capabilities.

8. Retention

We retain Personal Information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to provide services, maintain records, comply with legal or contractual obligations, resolve disputes, and protect our rights. Retention periods may vary depending on the record type and applicable context.

9. Security

We use safeguards designed to protect Personal Information against unauthorised access, use, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. No method of storage, transmission, or processing is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Lazr maintains processes for responding to confidentiality incidents and, where required by law, may notify affected individuals, the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec, or other competent authorities, and maintain records relating to such incidents.

10. Your choices and rights

Subject to applicable law and verification requirements, individuals may request access to, or correction of, Personal Information held by Lazr, may withdraw consent where Lazr relies on consent, and may in some circumstances request that certain computerized Personal Information collected from them be communicated in a structured, commonly used technological format. Depending on the jurisdiction and circumstances, additional rights may also apply.

If you use Lazr through an organisation or business account, some requests may need to be handled through that organisation or its administrator, depending on the circumstances.

11. Third-party services

Our website or webapp may link to, integrate with, or rely on third-party services. Lazr is not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties, and their own terms or privacy notices may apply.

12. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted with a revised effective date or last updated date. Where required by law, Lazr will provide additional notice or obtain renewed consent.
