How to set up in minutes

Add your billing profile

Enter legal name, tax ID and preferred currency once: Lazr stamps every invoice and Bill of Lading automatically, so Finance never re-keys data again.

Add shipping origins & defaults

Save each dock or store as a reusable origin, then pick one as your default. At checkout, users simply select instead of typing, slashing data-entry time.

Invite your team & set permissions

Create unlimited users, group them by role (Shipping, Purchasing, Finance) and toggle granular rights for buying, voiding or reporting. Role control means compliance without bottlenecks.

Import your address book

Drag-and-drop a CSV (or forward the file to our support desk). Lazr captures full contact data for shippers and receivers, saving two extra steps per order .

How to Place an Order on Lazr

1. Start a New Order

Begin by navigating to the Order List tab.
You can start a new order in two ways:

Click New Order, or
Select the Marketplace icon (the small truck).

This will bring you to the Shipping Details page.

2. Enter Shipping Details

Choose your shipment type: Parcel or Freight.
For this example, we’ll use Parcel.

Enter:

Quantity
Dimensions
Weight
A short description of the item (e.g., “auto part,” “clothing,” etc.)

When finished, complete the Ship From and Ship To sections.

3. Choose Addresses

On the Transit page:

Your default shipping address appears automatically once your account is set up.
For the destination, you can choose from saved locations in your Address Book.

Laser’s system will detect whether the location is commercial or residential. If it doesn’t populate correctly, select Residential manually to avoid extra charges.
You can also set a Ready to Ship date if the package won’t be ready today. If needed, add optional services such as: “Signature required”, “Hold for pickup” or “Weekend delivery”
When ready, continue to Coverage.

4. Select Shipment Coverage

Each carrier includes basic coverage automatically.

If you want additional protection, select Yes for full coverage.

Otherwise, leave the default set to No and continue to Results.

5. Compare Carrier Options

You’ll now arrive at the Marketplace, a central place to compare all carrier options Laser offers.

Filter by service type based on your shipment’s urgency.
For example, you might select a regular Ground service with Purolator.

Click your preferred option and continue.

6. Add Sender & Receiver Details

On the Additional Details page:

If you used your default address, your sender information will already be filled in. So will the receiver’s information, if selected from your address book.
Add a contact email and select Notify by Email + Attach Labels if you want labels sent to you automatically, or to the receiver (no personal information is shared).

You may also enter “Shipping instructions” or “Receiving instructions”. Select Save to Address Book.
Click Continue to Checkout.

7. Choose Pickup or Drop-off

A popup will appear with pickup options:

New Pickup – select this if it’s your first order of the day.
Existing Pickup – if you already arranged a pickup with the same carrier.
Drop-off – choose this if you prefer to bring the parcel to a carrier location yourself, especially for late-day shipments.

Select your option to proceed.

8. Final Review & Checkout

This is the last page before booking. Here, you can:

Add a billing PO number for your invoice.
Review all sender and receiver details.
Double-check your shipment information.

On the right, you’ll see your Price Summary, including:

Freight cost
Fuel surcharge
Taxes

When you’re ready, you can either book your shipment, or save it as a draft.
